Richmond County Elementary School Students to Recite Pledge of Allegiance Friday and Saturday
ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (April. 17, 2025) – As the buzz continues to build prior to NASCAR’s highly anticipated return to Rockingham Speedway, officials from Track Enterprises are pleased to add the Richmond (N.C.) Senior High School Marching Band to the line-up of pre-race activities for Friday’s Black’s Tire 200 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Race.
The Richmond Raider Band will perform the school’s fight song and feature over 50 of Richmond County’s most talented high school musicians.
Meanwhile, a medley of Richmond County elementary school students will be on hand to honor America by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Students were chosen individually from different schools across the county following a collaborative initiative between Track Enterprises, the Richmond County Tourism Development Authority and Richmond County Schools to involve students throughout the weekend.
“The Richmond Raider Marching Band will be an exciting, homegrown addition to our pre-race activates prior to the green flag for Friday’s Black’s Tire 200,” said Bob Sargent, President of Track Enterprises. “We’re so grateful to Assistant Principal Angela McDonald, Melvin Ingram of Richmond County Schools, Band Director Edwin Carter and, of course the entire Raider Nation for allowing the Richmond Raider Band to participate in this extraordinary weekend. We’re also thrilled to welcome students from across Richmond County Elementary Schools as they recite the pledge of Allegiance before the Black’s Tire 200 and Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series North Carolina Education Lottery 250 presented by Black’s Tire.”
