Camping Options
With afternoon NASCAR races at The Rock, camping at Rockingham Speedway is a great choice, with plenty of time to grill out and spend time with family and friends! The backstretch RV Parking perch overlooking Thunder Alley is nearly sold out.
Camping check-in has been moved up to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday in response to feedback and fans wishing to get set-up for the weekend before the start of Thursday night’s ThunderFest in downtown Rockingham (see below)!

TWO NASCAR Driver Autograph Sessions at The Rock
Fans can meet NASCAR drivers and get autographs in the Fan Zone. The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series drivers autograph session is scheduled for Friday from 11:00am -11:45am, and on Saturday, the NASCAR XFINITY Series stars will be signing autographs from 10:00am – 10:45am.

Free Parking, Reserved Parking
There’s thousands of free parking spaces on the Rockingham Speedway grounds. You also have the option to purchase reserved parking to park closer to the entry gates for a small fee, available for purchase online or by paying $20 cash on arrival. CLICK HERE to purchase in advance.

NCDOT “ROCKINGHAM SPECIAL” Train From Raleigh Delivers Race Fans To The Rock Saturday
A special train from Raliegh to Rockingham Speedway is a great way to get to NASCAR’s Return to The Rock! There will be a special Train Stop on Highway 177 at The Rock, with free shuttle service provided as soon as race fans cross the street, to transport them to the grandstand gates! CLICK HERE
Kasey Kahne is racing at The Rock in the NC Education Lottery 250 NASCAR XFINITY Series race!
Kasey Kahne, one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers, and winner of the 2012 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Rockingham Speedway was lured back by the appeal of racing again at one of his favorite speedways, and will be racing with Richard Childress Racing at The Rock on Saturday, April 19th! It’s been six-plus years since his last NASCAR race. Kasey was pleased with his performance after making laps in January in the NASCAR Organizational Test at Rockingham Speedway. He also finished a very close second to Matt Kenseth in the 2004 Cup Series race at The Rock.
RECORD-BREAKING SPEED
Over 50 teams participated in the January 28-29 NASCAR Organizational Test at Rockingham Speedway. The track surface was repaved in 2022, which resulted in blazing-fast speeds, noticeably faster than existing track records. Faster than Dover Speedway, faster than the Cup Series back in the day at Rockingham Speedway in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series! Average lap speeds in January were in excess of 165 mph!! There is no doubt new track records will be set in qualifying in all 3 NASCAR divisions.
ARCA Menards Series East Teams-A-Plenty
Early indications have over 30 ARCA Menards Series East teams entering the 1p.m. Saturday, April 19 “Rockingham 125.” The ARCA Menards Series is NASCAR’s top development series. NASCAR Cup Series star Tyler Reddick won the most recent series race at The Rock in 2012. Last year’s ARCA East champ William Sawalich will be racing in the Rockinham 125 before he steps into his full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series ride with Joe Gibbs Racing on Saturday. The complete entry list will be released this week.
Thursday THUNDERFEST: NASCAR Drivers and Edwin McCain LIVE!
The tradition is back! THUNDERFEST kicks off NASCAR weekend in downtown Rockingham! This year’s Welcome Back NASCAR Party takes place from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, April 17th.
This free-to-attend event features NASCAR driver appearances, the FirstHealth Kids Zone, interactive activities and Edwin McCain Band performs LIVE! CLICK HERE
Listen In, Listen Up: Racing Electronics SCANNER Rentals
Hear NASCAR’s team communications or listen to MRN’s call of the races by renting headsets and scanners from Racing Electronics. Renting in advance is required, with pick-up at Rockingham Speedway at the RE Trailer in the Fan Zone on race weekend. Reserve by the deadline of this Thursday, April 17, 5pm at this link.
